Three people were arrested and 50 grams of suspected fentanyl were confiscated during a search of a vehicle, according to Floyd County Sheriff John Hunt’s office, which claimed the search was prompted by a text tip received on March 3.
According to court filings and a statement from Hunt’s office, the department received a text message to its ‘text-a-tip’ number reporting a narcotics trade at the Prestonsburg Walmart parking lot.
Deputies made contact with Jadyn Reese, 20, of Huntington, W.Va., and Keshon Lee, 24, and Keyon Lee, 21, both of Detroit, Michigan.
The officers detained Reese and Keyon Lee, according to court filings, while Deputy Dusty Newsome “ran” K9 Drago around the vehicle. According to court documents, the dog “alerted” on the passenger side front door.
Officers searched the vehicle and discovered roughly 50 grams of a grayish powdery substance suspected to be fentanyl in a fake bottom “Pringles” container.
Keshon Lee came out of one of the Walmart plaza stores and inquired about what was going on as both Reese and Keyon Lee were being arrested. According to an arrest citation, Keshon Lee stated that everything in the vehicle belonged to him and that the other two had no involvement with what was discovered.
Reese, Keshon Lee, and Keyon Lee were all arrested and charged with importing carfentanil, fentanyl, or fentanyl derivatives, as well as aggravated trafficking of more than or equivalent to 28 grams of fentanyl.
