Officials with the Jefferson County Police Department are investigating a shooting.

 

On Wednesday, Jefferson County 911 received a call concerning a shooting at around 8:40 AM. When deputies arrived on the scene, they discovered a 2-year-old boy who had been shot.

 

The child was transported to the University of Tennessee Medical Center. He is undergoing surgery and his injuries are reported to be critical.

 

Detectives with the Criminal Investigation Division and agents with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation are on the scene and the investigation remains active at this time.
