One inmate has passed away after being attacked in the Jessamine County Jail.

 

Inmate Adam Duff was initially charged with assault following what police say was an attack on another inmate. The man who was attacked died Wednesday night at UK Hospital. No information as to his identity has been released.

 

Detectives say Duff’s charges will be upgraded in the coming days.

 

Duff was initially arrested on a charge of receiving stolen property.
