Jesse E. Cantrell, age 88 of Paintsville, Kentucky passed away Sunday, March 27, 2022 at Paintsville ARH Regional Medical Center. Born March 19, 1934 in Johnson County, Kentucky to the late Richard Everett Cantrell and Clista Mae (Green) Cantrell.

Jess was retired from the Paintsville Independent School System where he was a staple for many years. In addition, he was retired from Pepsi. He was a member of the Fishtrap United Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be held 12:00pm Thursday, March 31, 2022 in the chapel of the Phelps & Son Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Family Cemetery at Blanton Branch in Oil Springs, Kentucky. Steve Trimble and Jerry Colvin will officiate. Friends may visit at the Phelps & Son Funeral Home on Wednesday from 4:00-9:00pm and on Thursday after 9:00am until time of services at 12:00pm. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Phelps & Son Funeral Home.
