On Wednesday, emergency crews worked to fight a large brush fire near the Cabell and Wayne County line.

The fire is said to be between Raccoon Creek and Bowen Creek, near Steer Branch.

According to the West Virginia Division of Forestry, eight fire departments responded and almost 50 acres were burned. The fire is said to now be contained, with crews currently working to clear any leftover vegetation in the area.
