Two Arrested On Drug Trafficking Charges

On Wednesday night, deputies with the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office were conducting an undercover purchase of illegal narcotics. More drugs were found than previously expected in addition to a firearm.

 

According to a release from the Sheriff’s Department, the suspects would not follow officers’ commands and were making movements inside the vehicle that were alarmin to deputies. The deputies drew their weapons and underwent a short standoff with the suspects. Afterwards, the suspects came out of the vehicle and followed the officers’ instructions. 

 

A subsequent search of the vehicle revealed two bags of cocaine, a digital scale, and several plastic baggies. These were seized along with the firearm.

 

Kevin Padilla Perez was arrested and charged with two counts of trafficking in a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

 

Dylan Retuguis Perez was arrested and charged with trafficking in a controlled substance and possession of marijuana.

 

Both individuals were taken to the Wayne County Detention Center.
