JoAnn Akers, 75, of Prestonsburg, passed away Sunday, April 3 at Highlands ARH following an extended illness. She was born in Prestonsburg, KY on March 21, 1947 to her parents, Joe and Eunice Mae Bays.

Family will receive guests at Carter Funeral Home on Thursday, April 7 starting at 1 p.m. up until the time service at 2 p.m. presided over by Bro. William Jarrell. Burial will immediately follow at the Davidson Memorial Gardens at Ivel, KY. The family have chosen the professional and loving staff of the Carter Funeral Home to oversee this last act of love and respect.
