
According to Officials with the Knox County Sheriff’s Department, a man with several outstanding arrest warrants was spotted on Gobblers Knob Lane.
A deputy claims he saw 28-year-old Joshua Taylor in a truck that was on the road, and realized he had several warrants. After Taylor spotted the deputy, he is said to have exited his vehicle and ran away.
The deputy was able to apprehend Taylor, following a short foot-chase. The deputy is said to have found two plastic baggies filled with suspected meth.
Taylor was arrested and charged with fleeing or evading police in the first-degree (on foot), resisting arrest, and possession of a controlled substance in the first degree for methamphetamine. These were served alongside four warrants; two separate charges for possession of a handgun by a convicted felon and two separate charges for trafficking in a controlled substance in the first degree for methamphetamine, buying/possessing drug paraphernalia, persistent felony offender 2 and motor vehicle offenses.
After gaining permission, the deputy searched the truck, where he is said to have found two bags of suspected meth, one of which was inside the passenger’s purse.
Brittany Cox was additionally charged with possession of a controlled substance.
