One person is now in the hospital, following an officer-involved shooting that took place in Grundy, Virginia.

 

Grundy Police Department Officials say the shooting occurred at around 7:40 PM Saturday, at the Appalachian Inn on Hoot Owl Road.

 

The involved officer is said to have been assisting the individual with relocating when an altercation occurred, leading to the shooting. Afterwards, the suspect was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. 

 

The involved-officer was placed on administrative leave, pending an investigation from the Virginia State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation.
