A middle school teacher was recently arrested after deputies say he sent explicit images and messages to a student through social media.

Christopher Tyler Brewster was arrested on the 14th of this month following a report being made to a Logan County Sheriff’s Department Prevention Resource Officer. According to the complaint, Bewster was a substitute teacher for Chapmanville Middle School and the victim attended Logan High School.

Brewster is said to have sent messages to his victim through Snapchat on at least five different days between December of last year and February of this year. The messages in question are described as being sexual in nature and intent.

Brewster is said to have resigned before being arrested.

With a similar incident involving former Chapman Middle School band teacher Cameron Bookman taking place in 2020, parents are now asking what is being done to protect these students and resolve these issues.

Brewster is currently facing one felony charge of preparation, distribution, or exhibition of obscene matter to minors.
