An update from the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office:
We received two calls from citizens concerning a scam. The caller identified themselves as a deputy with JCSO. They used the name of one of our deputies. The caller stated the citizen had failed to fill out jury paperwork. He requested the citizen’s cell phone number. They also asked for gift cards. When the citizen refused to give his number the caller threatened him with arrest.
JCSO doesn’t have anything to do jury duty. If you receive a suspicious phone call and have any questions please call us at 606-789-3411.
