Body Found In Creek Following Deadly Car Crash

Officials with the Kentucky State Police are currently investigating a deadly crash that happened over the weekend in the Lackey Community of Knott County.

 

Upon their arrival, officers discovered a red 1997 Chevrolet that had overturned in a nearby creek. The vehicle was empty.

 

Officers with Kentucky Fish & Wildlife worked alongside police and other search & rescue personnel in an attempt to search the waterway for possible remains, believing the driver may have been swept out of the vehicle during the crash.

 

The next day, crews discovered the body of 31-year-old Charles B. Moore, of Mousie. He was pronounced dead on the scene by the Knott County Coroner’s Office and his body has been sent to Frankfort for an autopsy.

 

The investigation into this case remains active.
