Officers with the Pikeville Police Department were called to Ross Dress for Less on Saturday for a suspected shoplifter.

Upon their arrival, the suspect, 28-year-old Carla Forsyth, of Harold, told the officer she didn’t have any ID and then allegedly gave him a fake social security number. The responding officer happened to remember Forsyth because of previous encounters. The officer also remembered she was wanted on several warrants.

After a search of the suspect’s purse, the officer allegedly found over 16 grams of heroin, three grams of meth, more than two-dozen pills, a pistol, and around $2,400 in cash. A subsequent search of the woman’s car uncovered additional drugs, including meth, pills, and Fentanyl, alongside trafficking materials.

Forsyth was arrested and charged with multiple counts for drug trafficking and possession, alongside other charges. She was also charged with escape and tampering with a prisoner monitoring device in Floyd County.
