A man out of Knott County was arrested in Pike County after police say he drove as fast as 113 mph while under the influence and with his daughter in the car.
33-year-old Eric Caudill, of Hindman, was clocked going 96 mph on US 23 at Dorton on Tuesday. Another officer clocked Caudill going at 113 mph further down the road. He is said to have pulled over after three miles.
After officers performed a traffic stop, Caudill informed them he was trying to take his daughter to a softball tournament in Neon, but had gotten lost. It was then that officers noticed the smell of alcohol coming from the vehicle along with a mostly empty brandy bottle.
Caudill was arrested and charged with DUI, endangering the welfare of a minor, and other charges.
