A London man was arrested on Wednesday afternoon after he was clocked riding a motorcycle almost 65 mph over the posted speed limit.

 

Laurel County Sheriff’s Office Deputies conducted a traffic stop on 36-year-old Wiley E. Gambrell, Jr. on US 25, around two miles north of London. Gambrell was clocked as going 119 mph in a 55 mph zone. The arresting officer also noted that Gambrell was passing in a dangerous manner.

 

He was arrested and charged with speeding more than 26 mph over the speed limit, reckless driving, driving too fast for traffic conditions, and improper passing. Gambrell was additionally wanted on outstanding charges of assault, strangulation, and fleeing or evading police.

 

He is now being held in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
