Gary D Melvin, age 64, of Paintsville died Friday June 3, 2022 at his residence. He was born March 25, 1958 in Paintsville to the late Donald and Irene Castle Melvin. On October 25, 1990 in Boons Camp he married Katrina Meade Melvin who survives.

Gary was a devoted public servant serving the City of Paintsville in multiple capacities including Dispatcher, EMT, and Firefighter. His servants heart surpassed his responsibilities to the city and in his spare time he served as a beloved member of the staff at Preston Funeral Home where his compassion touched countless families that he assisted in serving. Visitation is scheduled for Saturday from 3 P.M. until 9 P.M. and on Sunday from 12 Noon until time of services. Funeral Services are scheduled for 2 P.M. Sunday June 5, 2022 in the chapel of the Preston Funeral Home with his son Kyle Melvin officiating. Interment will be Monday at Highland Memorial Cemetery at Staffordsville.
