On Tuesday morning, Kentucky State Police were dispatched to an accident on Battlefield Memorial Highway (US-421).

A motorcycle and a Ford Crown Victoria were involved in the collision near Battlefield Park.

According to police, the motorcycle, driven by Garrett Ray, 33, lost control driving southbound on a bend and ran into southbound traffic, colliding with 57-year-old Ruth Dejarnette’s Ford.

Ray was transported to Baptist Health Richmond, where he was pronounced dead. With minor injuries, Dejarnette was transported to St. Joseph Hospital in Berea.
