A man out of Central Kentucky is said to have led police on a chase while riding a tractor through a golf course.

 

The incident took place on Wednesday afternoon in Berea. Jacob Wherle was stopped on the tractor, but accelerated once an officer approached him. Police say the man accelerated, nearly striking the officer in the process. Wherle is said to have also nearly hit two people who were on a bike during the chase.

 

According to police, the damage sustained by the golf course during the chase is estimated to cost over $1,000. 

 

Wherle is now being held in the Madison County Detention Center on charges of wanton endangerment, fleeing or evading, criminal mischief, and other charges.
