arrest3-2

One man is now facing charges after police say he intentionally hid the body of his girlfriend.

Officers served a search warrant at a home on Lyons Lane in Ashland. A corpse is said to have been located, having been tucked between the bed and the wall. Officers reported the body appeared to have been there for an extended period.

Boyd County Coroner Mark Hammond identified the victim as Summer Goldie.

According to police, Whitney Filion, of Ashland, was still living within the home. Filion was identified as the victim’s boyfriend.

Officers say Filion was fully aware that the victim was deceased and that he intentionally did not contact emergency services for assistance and went as far as to hide the corpse from others within the home with the use of blankets.

Filion is now facing a charge for the abuse of a corpse.

As of now, officials do not suspect homicide and are awaiting toxicology reports.

Filion is being held in the Boyd County Detention Center.
