
A Johnson County Sheriff’s Deputy responded to McCarty Branch over a report of three men who were allegedly attempting to load a homeowner’s storage building into a pickup truck for the purpose of driving away with it.
The deputy approached the men, asking what they were doing. 48-year-old Raymond Roman, of Staffordsville, told the officer he had paid $400 for the building and that the other men had come to help him with moving it. After being informed that the owner did not sell the building, the men put it back.
The deputy then discovered the truck the men were using had been reported stolen out of Lexington. Roman allegedly told the officer he had traded for it. Eight-ounces of meth were discovered within the vehicle.
Roman and 43-year-old Michael Hall, both of Prestonsburg, were arrested and charged with complicity to meth trafficking. Roman was additionally charged with felon in possession of a firearm following the discovery of a loaded 9mm handgun within the truck.
The third individual, 42-year-old Jason Curtis, of Staffordsville, was also arrested on a charge of meth possession.
