Governor Announces First Confirmed Deaths In Historic Flooding

Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear has confirmed the first deaths that are a direct result of the flash flooding in Eastern Kentucky on Wednesday night and Thursday.

 

During his briefing, the governor said that three deaths had been confirmed. By the evening of that same day, the number had risen to eight.

 

With even more rain forecasted in the coming days, the governor asks that all Kentuckians remain vigilant.

 

The governor announced a statewide state of emergency Thursday morning after the historic flash flooding swept through the region.
