An elderly woman’s body was discovered in her back yard after officials say it had been lying there for eight days.

 

The woman’s body was only discovered after neighbors noticed vultures perched on her roof.

 

Officials say that the woman’s body had decomposed from a combination of intense heat and humidity in addition to being preyed upon by animals.

 

The coroner suspects the woman to have died from natural causes, but an autopsy report is pending.

 

The body was sent to the State Medical Examiner’s Office.
