Governor Beshear announced Tuesday that Knott County will be receiving nearly $200,000 in state funding to fix drainage issues caused by flooding. The funds will go to the Knott County Fiscal Court.

Governor Beshear said in a news release that these projects, which are funded by Emergency Road Aid, will bring back a sense of normalcy to Eastern Kentucky.

$68,000 dollars will go to a project on Sam’s Branch, also known as Country Road 1158 and $112,000 will go towards a project on Smith View Ridge, also known as County Road 1744.

These repairs will make these areas safer and allow for proper drainage, official say.

Eastern Kentucky counties and cities were awarded a total of $411,920 in emergency road aid funds, for infrastructure repairs of damage caused by flooding.
