New Plan from the Kentucky Council on Postsecondary Educations Aims to Help Adults Pursue Higher Education

The Kentucky Council on Postsecondary Education yesterday announced a new plan that aims at removing barriers that prevent adults from returning to college or first time enrollment statewide.

Kentucky has one of the lowest workforce participation rates in the United States. President of the Postsecondary Education council, Aaron Thompson, says the skills gap among working-age people is a big factor.

The plan is calling for a one-stop student information portal, which includes available financial aid, to increase adult accessibility higher education.

The plan also is calls for expanding financial assistance and also simplifying the admission process.
