Bell County Man Charged with Drug Trafficking after Running from Law Enforcement

A man out of Bell County was arrested following a traffic stop that escaladed to him running from authorities.

Middlesboro Police Department Officials released a statement on Facebook, saying an officer stopped 37 year old Joshua Sutton of Middlesboro, for riding his four-wheeler on a paved road.

It’s said that Sutton attempted to evade police after the stop, but was caught shortly after.

When police searched Sutton, they discovered a pill bottle which allegedly contained meth. They also found a tied plastic bag which law enforcement believes to contain heroin and another bag that had a white powdery substance and an orange powdery substance inside. These substances will be sent for analysis at the Kentucky State Police lab.

Sutton also had more than $3,100 in cash in his possession when he was arrested. Sutton was charged with two counts of trafficking in a controlled substance, fleeing and evading police on foot, and an ATV violation. He has been lodged in the Bell County Detention Center.
