A former Letcher County teacher, who was found guilty of a child porn charge last year, was recently ordered to pay restitution to his victim.

 

49-year-old Charles Evans Hall, of Jackhorn, was found guilty of producing child pornography and cyberstalking last October, following a trial that lasted three days.

 

Evidence presented during the child showed Hall had groomed a female student into sending him pornographic messages over Snapchat. The victim also gave testimony that Hall had engaged in criminal sexual acts with her while he was working a food booth at the 2018 Mountain Heritage Festival.

 

He was additionally found guilty of attempting to intimidate the girl into destroying evidence in addition to attempting to use other people to try to get her to recant.

 

Hall received a sentence of 30-years in prison in February. It was then that prosecutors asked the judge to order the man to pay restitution. The judge was in agreement, and ordered for Hall to pay his victim a total of $114,800 in restitution fees.
