
A Logan County man was arrested Saturday evening in connection with the death of a woman.
Law enforcement officials say 22-year-old Zachary Curtis Ball of Stollings, West Virginia is accused of shooting his mother-in-law, 42-year-old Lamanda Lynn Vance.
According to Logan County Sheriff Paul D. Clemens, the shooting took place along Huffman Branch Road in Pecks Mill, West Virginia, just before 8:30 p.m.
Ball was later found by Deputies. He was hiding in a culvert, not far from where the shooting occurred.
In order to find the murder weapon, deputies spent Sunday afternoon searching the area with metal detectors. Official said they discovered the magazine to the gun.
Authorities say the motive behind the murder is unclear, and they are describing it as a domestic situation that took a turn for the worst. Ball currently faces a murder charge.
