A crash involving a school bus and a truck this morning has left one person dead.

The crash happened near Mingo Central, along the King Coal Highway.

Mingo County Board of Education officials announced on Facebook that the driver of the truck died. The bus driver along with seven students were taken to the hospital with non-life- threatening injuries.

Emergency crew had shut down King Coal Highway and the Mingo County Sheriff’s office, along with West Virginia State Police are investigating the accident.
