A man from Michigan will spend more than 15 years behind bars for his involvement in an Eastern Kentucky drug trafficking case.
30-year-old Jayshawn Robinson of Detroit was sentenced on Friday in federal court in Pikeville, after pleading guilty to drug charges back in March.
A deputy with the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office searched the home of Charles Chandler in August 2021. Authorities found more than 500 grams of meth during the search. Chandler claims Robinson was his source for the meth.
According to Robison’s plea agreement, he had been importing drugs into Johnson and Magoffin counties on a regular basis, between April and August 2021, in order to supply drug dealers, including Chandler.
Back in June, Chandler was sentenced to over 7 years in prison. Several other individuals were convicted and sentenced for their involvement in the case.
