Eastern Kentucky Man Sentenced to 15 Years in Prison for Child Sex Abuse

A man from southeastern Kentucky was sentenced to 15 years in prison for his involvement in a child sex abuse case.

The decision was announced Wednesday by Attorney General Daniel Cameron.

30-year-old David Mayes was sentenced on Monday in Whitley County Circuit Court.

Mayes pled guilty in July to two counts of rape, two counts of criminal abuse, sex abuse and sodomy. Each charge is a felony.

Mayes will be registered as a sex offender for the rest of his life. Also apart of his sentence, He will be on monitored probation after he serves his term in prison. He will be prohibited from contacting his victims in any manner for at least 10 years.
