A West Virginian man is now behind bars after breaking his home-confinement agreement and allegedly going to the home of the person he had been accused of strangling.

According to officials with the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office, 25-year-old Gabriel Tackett was arrested on Sunday after a home-confinement deputy was notified that he had left a Huntington rehab center- while wearing his ankle monitor.

Tackett had been on home-confinement for at least two months, as a condition of his bond. All this while he was awaiting trial for strangulation.

The ankle monitor alerted Tackett’s assigned deputy, who in-turn altered the South Charleston Police Department, who are said to have been closer to the victim’s home.

Tackett was arrested at the victim’s home.

He is currently being held in the South Central Regional Jail without bond, pending a hearing concerning the violation of his home-confinement.
