Three Arrested On Drug Charges Following Traffic Stop

An update from the Laurel County Sheriff’s Office:

 

Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel County Sheriff’s Deputy Drew Wilson along with Laurel County Constable Robert Smith arrested three individuals early Friday morning November 18, 2022 at approximately 1:09 AM. The arrests occurred in a business parking lot off Highway 770 approximately 10 miles South of London following a traffic stop conducted on a silver Honda Accord for multiple equipment violations. During the stop one of the occupants was determined to be wanted on outstanding warrants and a resulting investigation found the three individuals in possession of suspected heroin in a loaded syringe. 

 

The three occupants were also found in possession of an empty syringe. The three arrested individuals were identified as:

 

  • The driver Billy Joe Asher age 37 of Sellersburg, Indiana charged with possession of a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense – heroin; possession of drug paraphernalia.

 

  • Steven Albert Huff  of age 37 of London dock Road, Baldrock, KY charged with possession of a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense – heroin; possession of drug paraphernalia in addition, the subject was charged on a Knox Circuit Court indictment warrant of arrest charging robbery – first-degree; possession of a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense – methamphetamine; trafficking in a controlled substance – third-degree. In addition, the subject was charged on a Knox Circuit Court bench warrant of arrest charging failure to appear in court on numerous felony offenses. Also the subject was charged on a Nelson District Court bench warrant of arrest regarding charges of public intoxication – controlled substances; theft by unlawful taking.

 

  • Daniel Arthur age 44 of North Hill St., London charged with possession of a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense – heroin; possession of drug paraphernalia.
