A Tennessee man was arrested in Middlesboro on several drug offenses Wednesday
Middlesboro Police Officers responded to a call at the Walmart parking lot concerning a man who was passed out in the driver’s seat of his car.
The man, Patrick Gibson of Speedwell Tennessee was woken up and asked to get out of his vehicle.
Once he exited the car, police began searching Gibson and discovered marijuana on his person. K9 officers on the scene sniffed around the car and alerted police of the illegal drugs.
Officers discovered a small container following searching the car. The contents of the container were baggies that contained a gray powder and rock-like substance that’s speculated to be heroin, another baggie that officers believe to be meth. One officer discovered elastic bands, syringes, a spoon and white residue, and a vial with different types of pills inside.
$440 in cash was also recovered, along with the car itself.
Gibson was charged with several drug related offenses such as possession of marijuana, importing heroin, trafficking meth and heroin, unspecified drug trafficking and possessing drug paraphernalia.
