Man Arrested On Attempted Murder Charges Following Motor-Vehicle Incident

A Mingo County man is now facing attempted murder charges, after allegedly intentionally crashing his vehicle into another person’s car, causing extensive damage in the process.

 

Tyler May was arrested and now faces charges of attempted murder, attempted insurance fraud, domestic assault, felony destruction of property and reckless driving. All of these following the incident that occurred on RT 52, in Mingo County.

 

May is accused of crashing into the other person’s vehicle near the Meade Shopping Center.

 

Additionally, May stands accused of hitting and causing serious damage to a showroom display building, which is said to have happened after the incident.

 

The victim of the incident attempted to leave the scene of the crash, but their vehicle could only take them about a mile away. Stranded on RT 52, near Justice is where the victim called 911.

 

May allegedly arrived at the victim’s location before officers could respond.

 

Once police made it to the scene, May is said to have told them the crash was an accident, with the victim allegedly corroborating his story.

 

The following day, the victim told officers the crash was not an accident and that she had gone along with May’s account of the crash out of fear.
