Floyd Central High School was recently recognized as a Purple Star School.
The Purple Star Program is part of the Department of Behavioral Health, Developmental and Intellectual Disabilities’ Strategies to strengthen the resiliency of Kentucky’s military-connected youth and ensure that their social, emotional, academic needs are met.
The Purple Star designation recognizes schools who are committed to serving students and families connected to our country’s armed forces.
Superintendent Anna Shepherd has said the Floyd County Board of Education is proud of Floyd Central for receiving the Purple Star designation and that the staff and students of the high school work hard and will continue to work hard to honor our nation’s military and those who serve.
