The Louisa police department announced on facebook today that they have added to their ranks the first woman officer in the department’s history.

Patrolman Shelby R. Taylor joined the Louisa police department after receiving her criminal justice degree from Eastern Kentucky University in 2021.

Along with her degree, Taylor is also competent in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Muay Thai.

According to the Louisa Police Department Facebook, Taylor will join the Department of Criminal Justice training program at EKU for 20 weeks.
