The Highlands ARH Regional Medical Center conducted their “Warm Coats for Local Kids” coat drive for its fourth year, to help provide warm clothes to Family Resource Centers at local schools.

The first coat drive was conducted four years ago, after the hospital’s Director of Process and Performance, Josh Mosley, shared the idea with his boss, Big Sandy Regional Chief Executive Officer Tim Hatfield.

Mosley contacts Family Resource Coordinators from local schools a couple months before christmas. Mosley requests lists of coat sizes of children at the school. Mosley compiles all the lists into one and then sends the list via email to employees of the hospital. Employees will then gather coats to donate to local schools.

Highlands ARH employees provided approximately 150 coats to local children this year.
