The warming center in Johnson County is still open to serve anyone in need.

The warming center, which is located in the old Johnson County Sheriff’s Office, served one couple and three individuals last night. The couple was placed in emergency housing and the three individuals requested warmth and they received hot drinks, blankets, hot hands and pre-packaged food.

Those with the warming center drove to downtown Paintsville and other areas before the temperature dropped, to find and help people without shelter.

If you want to volunteer or are aware of any unmet needs, please contact the warming center at 606-789-4221. The center said they will be open for the next several days.
