An Eastern Kentucky Woman Was Arrested Early This Morning After Stealing A Truck And Fleeing From Police

An Eastern Kentucky woman was arrested early Thursday morning after stealing a truck and fleeing from police.

At 3AM this morning Deputy Sheriff Shane Wilson with the Leslie County Sheriff’s Office received a complaint of a stolen vehicle from the Leslie County Dispatch.

It was reported that a male and female were riding around in a 1999 Chevy pickup truck in the Bear Branch area. The man stopped the truck so he could use the restroom. When he got out of the truck, the woman got into the driver’s seat and drove off.

Deputy Wilson later spotted the stolen truck in the Stinnett area and attempted to make a traffic stop. The female refused to stop for Deputy Wilson and drove off at a high speed.After a pursuit across the Harlan County line, she stopped at a home on Bigelow Rd where she jumped out and ran off on foot. The stolen truck was left in neutral and it rolled back into the Deputy Wilson’s patrol unit. 

Deputy Wilson  was able to arrest her after a short chase on foot, with assistance from Kentucky State Police. 

The woman, 24 year old Destiny Mcmilon, of Baxter,KY was arrested and placed in the Leslie County Detention Center. 

She has been charged with theft by unlawful taking, 1st degree fleeing or evading police in a vehicle, 2nd degree fleeing or evading police on foot, reckless driving, and 6 other charges.
