The Martha Jane Potter Elementary School in Letcher County began classes today, as they return to their own campus since the Spring 2022 semester.

The Martha Jane Potter Elementary School building suffered severe damage from flood waters in July. The elementary school was hosting classes inside the Fleming Neon Middle School while the elementary school building was being repaired.

The elementary school said they are thankful for Trace Creek Construction and their maintenance department for fixing up the school building to make it possible for students to return. The school said they are also thankful to the Fleming Neon Middle School for providing space for the elementary school to resume classes and to the parents and community for their continued patience and support.
