A trooper-involved shooting is said to have taken place on Sunday night in the Sandy Hook area of Elliott County.

 

The incident is said to have occurred at around 8:42 PM.

 

According to an initial investigation by the Kentucky State Police Critical Incident Response Team, troopers were allegedly dispatched to the Middle Fork community. Upon their arrival, two troopers are said to have opened fire at an individual who had been deemed a threat.

 

The individual was allegedly transported to a hospital for treatment of injuries.
