The Floyd County Fiscal Court announced that the tree in front of the Floyd County Courthouse will be removed to install a monument to memorialize the police officers who died in the shooting that happened in Allen back in June.

The monument will be in memory of Floyd County sheriff’s deputy William Petry,  Prestonsburg Police Department Captain Ralph Frasure,  Prestonsburg Police Officer Jacob R. Chaffins and  K9 police dog Drago.

As the project nears completion, additional information will be released by the Floyd County Fiscal Court.
