
The Hindman Volunteer Fire Department announced that it is actively looking for volunteers.
The fire department said they can provide the proper training needed in house as they have a level II fire instructor at the department. The training hours required to obtain a state certification has decreased. The hour requirement to become state certified went from 150 to 115 hours at the start of 2023.
The fire department is currently taking applications for Junior firefighters (ages 15-17) and probationary firefighters (ages 18 and up). You can attend meetings to learn more on Monday nights at 6 pm.
Everyone who applies shall be subject to a background check. Convicted felons are ineligible for membership.
