A woman was recently charged with manslaughter following the discovery of a man who died from an overdose in a Waffle House bathroom, located off of the Eastern Bypass in Richmond, KY.

Officials arrested 33-year-old Amanda Hornsby on Tuesday.

Officers were called to perform a welfare check on a man locked inside of a Waffle House bathroom. The man, Carl Edwards, was discovered deceased from an apparent opioid overdose. Additionally, police are also said to have found traces of heroin in the restroom.

Following an investigation, officers determined that Edwards had purchased the opioids from Hornsby.

Police determined that Edwards entered the Waffle House, made a transaction with Hornsby, then went into the restroom, where he was found dead.
