The trooper had stopped at a gas station and, upon exiting his vehicle, he noticed the smell of marijuana coming from the car next to him.

The trooper then spoke with the individuals who are said to have been near the car, identified as 46-year-old Bucky Smith and 58-year-old Tina Runyon, both of Phelps- to ask them if they had any marihuana in the vehicle.

The pair reportedly admitted to the trooper that a small amount of marijuana was under a seat in the car.

The trooper performed a search of the vehicle, discovering the smaller bag of marijuana alongside an even larger amount of marijuana, as well as two bags of meth.

Smith and Runyon were both arrested on charges of trafficking in more than 8-ounces of marijuana, meth trafficking, and additional drug-related charges.

Both individuals are currently being held in the Pike County Detention Center.
