Ethel Ousley Hunt, age 85, of Hippo, KY, wife of the late James Monroe Hunt Jr., passed away Tuesday, January 24, 2023 at the Pikeville Medical Center, Pikeville, Ky. She was born May 13, 1937 in Hippo, KY, a daughter of the late Henry and Elizabeth Hughes Ousley. She was a member of Praise Assembly Church and a community worker at the Floyd County Health Department.

She is survived by two sons; Tim (Bonita) Shepherd, Hippo, KY, Henry (Carla) Shepherd, Pikeville, KY, one daughter; Jamie (Clyde) Alley, Hippo, KY, one brother; Sherman Ray Ousley, Willard OH, four grandchildren; Jimmy Daryl Shepherd, Jay Cameron Shepherd, Devan Hagans, Amanda Mullins.

In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by one son; Jim Shepherd, two brothers; Bill Ousley, Johnny Ousley, three sisters; Sabre Hawke, Leslie Allen, Gracie Terry.

Funeral service will be conducted Saturday, January 28, 2023 at 12:00 PM  at the Hall Funeral Home, Martin, KY, with Sonny Boyd officiating. Burial will follow in the Shepherd Branch Family Cemetery, Hippo, KY, visitation is after 6:00 PM Thursday and all day Friday at the Funeral Home.
