A Wayne County Man was recently arrested on drug possession following an incident that happened at the Monticello Walmart.

Johnathan Moran of Monticello was arrested on an active arrest warrant after Deputy Derek Dennis found him at the Monticello Walmart.

Deputy Dennis discovered an illegal substance during the arrest when Moran put it in his mouth and attempted to swallow it.

Deputy Dennis held Moran’s throat to prevent him from swallowing the substance. The subject then spit the substance out of his mouth. Deputy Dennis found a baggie on the floor where Moran was lying when Deputy Dennis handcuffed him.

The confiscated items were tested using the Tru-Narc Narcotic Analysis Equipment.  One item tested positive for methamphetamine with the other item tested positive for fentanyl.

Moran has been charged with resisting arrest, 2nd degree disorderly conduct, 1st degree possession of a controlled substance (meth) 1st degree possession of a controlled substance (fentanyl) and 1st degree of possession of a controlled substance (drug unspecified) 

He was placed in the Wayne County Detention Center.
