
An update from the City of London Police Department:
A driver that appeared to be asleep in a truck parked at a gas pump was arrested for operating a vehicle under a controlled substance Friday morning.
Jason Cunagin, 49, of Cider Ridge Road in London, was arrested by London Police Sgt. Ashley Taylor at 12:46 a.m. at a gas station on East Laurel Road.
According to Sgt. Taylor’s report, officers observed a truck sitting at a gas pump running while the driver appeared to be asleep. After Cunagin exited the vehicle, officers could smell marijuana and noticed that he had slurred speech and droopy eyes. Also, several small pieces of a green leafy substance fell on the ground.
Cunagin failed several field sobriety tests and was arrested for DUI, no registration plates, failure to notify change of address to Dept. of Transportation, and failure to produce insurance card.
He was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
