Whitley County Man Arrested After Deputies Found Meth and Paraphernalia

A Whitley County man was arrested today after deputies found meth and paraphernalia on his person.

The Whitley County Sheriff’s Department announced today that they have arrested 32 year old Jonathan Melton of Williamsburg.

According to officials, Deputies Jarrett Carr and Brentley Patrick were returning to Williamsburg after they patrolled Whitley East Elementary, when they saw Melton walking east of Maple Creek Road.

Melton was seen staggering and he wasn’t wearing any lights or reflective clothing to warn motorists.  During an investigation, deputies discovered that Melton was under the influence of drugs and was possessing Methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.

Melton was arrested and charged with Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Public Intoxication.
