The Williamsburg Police Department announced that a 14 year old  girl who has been missing since October 01, 2022 was found safe in South Carolina.

The female runaway was found in South Carolina on Saturday after a lengthy investigation by local, state and federal authorities.

Officials with the Williamsburg Police Department said they would like to extend their thanks to Kentucky State Police, Department of Homeland Security, AHIDTA-Appalachian High Intensity Drug Trafficking Agency, NCIS-Naval Criminal Investigative Service, FBI-Federal Bureau of Investigation, DEA-US Drug Enforcement Administration, Tennessee Tech University Division of Police, Turveville Police Department-South Carolina, and Lenior Police Department-North Carolina for their assistance in the investigation.

The investigation is on-going as it is unclear on how the juvenile was able to travel across multiple state lines and relocating from place to place.

No additional details are available at this time as the majority of information in juveniles cases must remain confidential.
